On offer is a magnificent, museum-quality antique 19th-century Chinese Export porcelain dinner plate/charger in the classic Rose Medallion pattern. Dating to the late Qing Dynasty (circa 1860–1880), this large 10-inch plate features the traditional four alternating reserve panels surrounding a central gilded bird-and-peony medallion.
Two panels showcase heavily enameled interior court scenes filled with beautifully rendered Mandarin figures holding fans and engaging in scholarly pursuits. Note the tiny gold hairpins in the lady's hair! The alternating two panels display an abundance of wildlife, including intricately detailed butterflies and native birds amidst blooming pink peonies, kumquats, and lush foliage. The panels are separated by a rich ground of green tendrils and heavy gold gilding.
The reverse shows a classic unglazed foot rim with minor characteristic iron spots and fine kiln pitting, typical of genuine hand-thrown 19th-century porcelain. There are no modern export marks.

Outstanding antique condition! This plate has been thoroughly inspected and is free of chips, cracks, hairline fractures, flea bites, or restorations. The overglaze enamels remain thick, vibrant, and raised to the touch, with only minor, expected surface wear to the gold accents commensurate with its 140+ years of age.
