Pair of Antique Chinese Export Rose Canton Porcelain Plates/Shallow Bowls - 7.5" 19th C. Famille Rose
$220.00
An exquisite, true antique pair of 19th-century Chinese Export porcelain shallow plates/bowls in the beautiful Rose Canton pattern. Dating back to the late Qing Dynasty (circa 1850–1890), these plates boast a dense, hand-painted palette of vibrant Famille Rose enamels.
The intricate composition features a central medallion of a bird on a rockery surrounded by four alternating panel sections. Two panels depict highly detailed birds and butterflies amidst blooming peonies and foliage, while the alternating panels showcase heavy floral sprays with fruit details, completely surrounded by a rich gilded key fret border.
The undersides feature a classic unglazed foot rim with minor characteristic kiln pockmarks and iron spots, identifying them as authentic period exports without modern maker marks. This set would make a phenomenal wall arrangement, mantle display, or addition to a dedicated Chinese Canton collection!
✨ Condition:
Superb antique condition. Both pieces feature NO chips, hairline cracks, flea bites, or structural repairs. There is only negligible, expected light wear to the gold gilt and overglaze enamel paint consistent with age and careful handling over the last 130+ years.
📐 Dimensions:
• Diameter: Approx. 7.5 to 7.75 inches each
• Style: Shallow bowl/deep plate form
