19th C. RARE Vase and Flowers motif 9.5" Famille Rose Dinner Plate

Offered is an exceptional and highly collectible mid- to late-19th century Chinese export Famille Rose porcelain dinner plate (c. 1850-1870). This piece features the rare and desirable "Vase and Flowers" (or Urn) variant. Rather than utilizing standard geometric dividers, the entire central courtyard scene is beautifully framed inside the silhouette of a ceremonial palace vase blooming with hand-shaded peonies and foliage.
The microscopic details featured include a ladybug, a dragonfly (?), and meticulously painted individual hairpins and fine textile folds. Often these tiny details were accomplished with brushes made with a single hair. The underside is blank and unmarked, pre-dating the McKinley Tariff Act of 1890 which required import pieces to have the country of origin on them. The raw foot rim and firing pits attest to the historical technique of wood-fired kilns.
Diameter: approximately 9.5 inches
Condition: Excellent Antique Condition. Structurally sound with no chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations. Vitreous enamels remain thick, vibrant and raised to the touch. Gilding shows some wear in accordance with its 150-year-old history.
