This is quite a rare piece. Beautiful repoussé and chased design accompanied by an Ebonite handle create a striking coffee pot. Stamped with a stag head emblem encircled by "WALLACE MADE IN ENGLAND" with "E.P ON COPPER" and "PLATED IN U.S.A." There is what I believe is a shape or pattern number "E 1710." In my research I found only one other piece with these markings. The metalwork is superb. It is my opinion it was done by Sheffield.
The stag head mark was used by Wallace Brothers until about 1939. The shape of the coffee pot is consistent with some Art Deco designs. Ebonite went out of favor when newer, thermo-plastics were developed prior to WWII.
These three pieces were probably part of a 5-piece set. They are in outstanding condition. This collection is made up of the coffee pot, the cream pitcher, and the "waste bowl", which can be used in place of a sugar bowl.
